Mosaics Investigation
The Investigation for collage creation, the Mosaics Investigation reveals paper and paper craft in all its variety and multiplicity.
Using hands, bodies and senses, we discover the material as it changes shape, becomes a tool for construction and design. We use the materials to tell stories, to express ourselves and our emotions, and to work through our ideas. Paper encounters water, air, light as well as out of the ordinary analytical tools.
Try using a grater, goopy glue, brush with water. Inspect the materials using a lightbox or microscope. Make incisions, punch holes, assemble the materials in new and interesting ways. Use digital tools like webcams and recording devices - how does it sound when you move it this way, scunch it that way? How does the scalpel look when magnified as it slices through card?
Perhaps you create a work of art, a narrative, an example. Perhaps it becomes a dripping unusable puddle. Still, we have explored and investigated here.
