Progettaziones
Discovery Time invites children ages 3-6 years old to experience Progettazione! This is a project based program like no other. Children are exposed to materials, tools and ideas that they may not have the chance to experience at home or at school. Parents and carers are able to stay and play or drop and go as needed.
The materials provided help to develop Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths skills through careful consideration and placement by a qualified teacher. They are chosen each week based on the children’s interests and developmental needs. Some materials you might see are different types of paper, paints, clay, natural loose parts, string, twine, markers, and water. Tools include light boxes, graters, mashers, magnifying glasses, paintbrushes, cameras, voice recorders and projectors. There are always examples of rich literacy in the form of books and other texts. Opportunities to explore mathematical concepts, science and technology abound.
In Progettazione, children are seen as whole people, worthy of respect and are listened to as they explore different ways of being. This is not a product or outcomes based program with step by step instructions for how to create a perfect piece of art or follow a recipe. This is a child led environment, with the goal being a lifelong love of learning and a sense of wholeness for each and every person.
Some weeks, you will be presented with a child covered in paint and a photo of their wonderful experiments. Other weeks, you will be presented with a new treasure to hang on the walls or display in your home for years to come.
Every week, the educator will document each child's learning. This might be in the form of a photo or video, a voice recording or a piece of work. If you have requested it, at the end of the term your child will be provided with a curriculum printout with the areas they have met ticked off, for use in homeschool moderator visits.

Progettazione sessions run every Tuesday & Thursday 9:30-10:45am at the Guides Hall in Ardross.
